The knowledge source the answer was built from, as a link the visitor can open. If the answer used two sources, both are named.
Does it also cite when it is not sure?
It does the opposite: when nothing in your sources covers the question it says so and offers a human, rather than inventing a plausible sentence and attaching a source to it.
Can I switch the citations off?
Yes, per bot, on the Pro plan and up. Most owners leave them on because it is the fastest way to see where a wrong answer came from.
